Of Wounds and Wonders: Seeking the Divine Signature in Love and Pain

To love is to know. Whether through nature or machines, seekers find the Creator’s signature— writes Mujeeb Jaihoon.

Love and Knowledge

To love is to know the Beloved. When we desire someone, we yearn to know more about them. For some, knowing the Beloved is just the journey, while for others it is the destination. The purpose of all knowledge, be it worldly or otherwise, must lead the seeker to the knowledge of the Beloved. Whether studying nature or machine, land or sea, His lovers seek to discover the signature of the Creator.

Pain

Pain is proportional to the trust we place in the one who causes it. When a parent strikes a child, the hurt is magnified by love; yet, a stranger’s blow carries less weight because there is no bond to break. Pain is rarely just a surface experience; it is rooted deeply in the heart. The closer the source is to our core, the deeper the wound becomes.
